The Soul of KHAMs

Growing up, the most familiar sound was the subtle click of my grandmother's prayer beads, Phrengwa (ཕྲེང་བ།). Whenever she found a moment of stillness, her fingers would instinctively move, turning the seeds one by one as she murmured ancient mantras. In the streets of my hometown, these beads are an extension of the body and mind, worn by almost everyone as a symbol of faith and heritage. While there are many materials, from sandalwood to ivory (which we strictly avoid now), my heart belongs to Star and Moon Bodhi. Legend says the black dots represent the stars scattered across the cosmos, and the singular bud-hole represents the moon.

We select seeds that are ethically harvested and of the highest artisan grade. They are "living" materials. Because they are porous, they absorb the natural oils of your skin, transforming from pale cream to a deep mahogany over years of wear. This "patina" is uniquely yours, no two beads will ever evolve the same.

THE THRENGWA 108: The classic length for meditation. Adorned with two Natural Southern Red Agates (representing vitality), one Raw Turquoise (representing the sky), and a sterling silver bead engraved with the KHAMs logo.

DAWA | Moonlight Pulse: A delicate single-strand bracelet. Designed to be subtle, it can be layered or worn alone.

RI | SUMMIT PATH: A bolder, larger beaded strand. Even with a tailored blazer, it remains discreetly tucked under the sleeve, revealing its character only in moments of movement.

In a world where traditional prayer beads are often adorned with a kaleidoscope of colours and intricate charms, The Awakening Series chooses the path of restraint. I have curated only two elemental gemstones: Raw Turquoise and Southern Red Agate. In Tibetan culture, Green is not just a color, it is the pulse of vitality. Red is not merely a hue, it is the shield of compassion and protection. To me, raw turquoise is like living skin, it breathes. Because I insist on using only untreated, organic stones, they possess the soul to evolve. Over time, they develop a 'colour-infusion', a deep, irreversible maturation that records the unique dialogue between the stone and its wearer.

Every KHAMs piece is wrapped in Deshog which is the ancient Tibetan paper used for sacred scriptures. Inside, you will find a Raw Clear Quartz as a symbol of raw spiritual energy.

We also include a card with the Tibetan words: ད་ལྟའི་སེམས་ཉིད། (Live in the Moment). Which is simply a reminder to return to yourself.
